I'll try to update this journal more often than once a month, but life here is crazy. Since Hanoi's birthday (lol) I was on the Vietnam Motor Show (a show with posh cars for posh buyers), it was closed for ordinary people, but when you're whiter than the others and dressed up as a reporter. they let you in. Actually, they really thought I was Peter Parker or something - one guy came to me and asked which newspaper I work for. :D
Also, we went to "Ai la trieu phu" - Vietnamese version of "Who wants to be a millionaire". Bakstage of shows is funny - they ask people to wave in the camera and clap like crazy. So we did.
I wish I had time to go see some pagodas. I love pagodas, they're always open (sometimes, even in the night) and people are friendly.
Here are some photos for the past month. More of them are here.

...and we watched a salute!

( +22 )
And then we went home by taxi. Driver saw how tired we were... and put a DISCO CD on. DISCO TAXI. We danced on our seats, it was awesome.
Forgive me, my posts don't make sence.

I'm gonna study in Hanoi for nine months, so this LJ will probably be full of photos.

It's really hot in here, about +30 degrees, but RAINS ALL OF A SUDDEN help to deal with the heat. Food is really tasty and I hope we'll get normal Internet soon. New place doesn't help drawing though. All I've drawn dor two day was utter crap, duh, D:

My mother had this crazy dream of going to London. You see, all my family, including yours truly had visited England once or twice. And we kept telling mom all about it: english tea, english people, whatever. So one day she told us: "That's it! It's either me going to your bloody England or you suffering". That wasn't a choice, you see.
So she and I (she takes me everywhere she goes, 'cause I can speak with pretty words and supposedly fun with) packed things and went flying. Our trip was: Cambridge, then Scotland, then a lil' bit of Whales, then London. It was rather hard for me (I don't really like tourist groups and all that "be in a bus by 18:00" stuff), but our group was great and we managed to see half of England in one go. We are pretty awesome.
Here are some photos.

York

York is shaped like a heart( +++ )
And finally! We are crossing Sctland's border and see Edinburgh at night.

Next: Edinburgh's Fringe festival, Whales and London.

Many targets for the national strategy on gender equality were set at a consultancy workshop held in the central city of Da Lat on August 9 by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Accordingly, equal opportunities, capacity and access to benefits will be offered to both men and women, with a focus on promoting women’s status in family and society and narrowing the gender gap in politics, economics and culture.

I wish there were programs like these in Russia.
Or government would allow gay parades. Or something.
(I'm sorry for my outburst, it's just strange that all countries, even Vietnam with its patriarchy common to 70% of 55 peoples of Vietnam (apart from Vietnamese there are 54 ethnic minorities) are moving on and here in Russia all stands still as if we're made of very old rocks. Ugh.)

Every time I see them doing what they like and being great at it, I feel inspired. "Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic zeros" is a great band, I hope we'll hear more of them soon.
And this. I love this.
